We are Back

Hey - we had a little vacation but we are back and ready to .....eat out !!!!

So stay tuned for more reviews of the restaurants and bars in Tulum!!

Happy Hour?

Happy Hour is something many of us think of as one or two hours with drink specials, right? But how about happy hours on Tulum Playa? "Happy Hour 1-6 pm". That is one long hour and you could get really happy. A drive or walk, or perhaps take taxis in case you get too happy to drive, along the playa road will introduce you to a whole new concept of happy "hours", and we mean hours! Check out a few of the 2 for 1 specials and let us know what you think. Luna Maya and Zahra and LaZebra all have happy hours. Check them out and let us know your favorite!!

A Few Reasons to Leave the Beach - Places We Like in Town

Basilico - great Italian food and excellent salads, we like the ambiance and the pizza - almost as good as La Nave and every so often you need a change. If you can sit upstairs the street view is great.
Charlie's - another great Mexican place with live Music on Saturdays. We love the Margaitas there and give it 2.5 oinks all around.
Don Cafeto's - Basic but great Mexican Food. Also a nice place to hear some piano music, meet a friend or just people watch with a coffee and a beer. You see it all at Don Cafeto's. Oink Oink for the whole place
El Mariachi -Good Mexican food and a great place to take a picture with a sombrero - they have them for the tourists. Go on, have a laugh. Just know that you will be back and they will remember you. We give it 2 pigs for food, 2.5 for a funky ambiance and 2 for service, very friendly but slow
Ginger - a find at the end of town with great Thai and wonderful wine glasses. Probably one of the hipper places in Tulum, at least for the moment.
La Nave - Great Italian Food. We recommend just about everything. Also serving a rocking breakfast these days Have to say it is 3 oinks for food, 2.5 oinks for ambiance and 2.5 for service - it is hard to hit 3 oinks for service here in town - Mexico is all about moving slow.2.5
